Hi, I believe the 2500A has the German D-239 Diesel engine same as agricultural model 574. If it is a D-239 engine then it has a Bosch injection pump and the usuall problem is the front lip seal on the injection pump drive shaft. Possible part number is: 3078355R2 SEAL OIL SEAL, drive shaft. If you decide to replace the seal yourself, get a service manual, clean everything around the injection pump, precisely mark the location of the injection pump on the mounting plate on timing gear cover. DO NOT LOOSEN the cap screws on the timing drive gear. The pump drive shaft is held by the large nut on the drive shaft. DO NOT TURN the pump drive shaft, if you turn it, turn it two revolutions or pump will be 180 degrees out of time when it is reinstalled.
