My first guess would be stripped distribitor gears. You can check this by removing timing adjusting clamp and pulling distribitor out. There will be one on end of distribitor shaft and another inside housing. These gears are sometimes stripped by using screw too long to mount points and condencer. These screws must be very short about 1/16 inch are they will lock up distribitor. If everthing in this area checks out ok it is probaly main drive gear. Hope this is of some help.
