I use to love to plow at night with either our '54 SM or 450. I'd pull the muffler off, shut off the lights and watch the flames shoot into the night sky. Boy did they ever cackle. Wonder if that's why I don't hear well today. Pulled 3x14" with SM and a fast hitch 3x16" with the 450. Before we got the 450 we plowed everything around, rounding out the corners. Never took the plow out of the ground except to occassionally enlarge the corners or to unplug. Sure made for some long days but when you were done with a field you were done, no ends to plow in. With the SM we considered an acre plowed an hour a good day. After we got the 450 we started squaring out the corners because of the mounted plow. At the corner you picked up the plow, stomped on the right braake and spun right back into the furrow . With the SM you had to make a loop around. boog
