Kurt, when this happens to me , i take some sandpaper (220 grit) and fold a small strip , open the points with a screwdriver and insert the sandpaper ,and pull it out, do this several times, then clean out any sand residue , this cleans the point contact area,that is if you don't have a new tune up kit at your disposal:+)
