I finally hit it in the right place and it came loose. What part of the assembly contributes most to the loose steering? Did you replace the bushings on the steering shaft and on the shaft where the steering sector is? How do you get them out and can a new one be tapped in or do you need a special driver? I was wondering how to inspect the worm gear on the steering shaft and the sector gear for wear? Also cant decide about when a bearing needs replacing and when the old one is OK. Was the key in your steering arm tight and the key in the sector loose? I hope the sector key on mine is loose. That seems like it would be an easier fix than replacing the bushings. There is quite a bit of wear on my steering shaft where it runs in the bushing. Havent taken the sector gear shaft out yet to inspect it.
