I understand totally what your saying, I built my own house (hired out the big stuff, foundation, framing, HVAC) I put in all the toilets, sinks, hdwood floors, ALL woodworking, all doors, cabinets, painting etc. My soul wentinto that house I plan on being there a while + I say to myself, Man I worked my A$$ off on this. + cut down trees on the weekends for 6 months to clear the home site. Some people have told me, You are an idiot for doing all that work (maybe) but all that work translated into equity in my pocket + sense of accomplishment. And I dont understand how some guys can sit in front of the TV for years and drink beer and say that life is good.
