756 carbuerator

IAm overhauling a 1968 756 gas and the carbuerator came to me in pieces i have figured out everthing except position of choke plate butterfly as i look directly at it in the carb should i see the brass colored cap or should i see the push button with the spring any aadvice would be great thanks
