To use the T/A on your tractor the rite way , It may be shifted up or down as long as it is pulling , If the tractor pulls down under load and ya need more power just pull it back and when the load is letting up and engine RPM is almost to the top of the predetermand speed set buy the throttel then shift it up the faster the better. Just do not use it as a way of slowing down with or with out a load pushing you . Change the trans / hdy fluid every 250 hours and change the hdy filter around every 50-100 hours. Keep the clutch and dump valve in adjustment along with the trans brake . If you are not a good mechanic then have someone who is do this.
