No, the Cub engine was genuine IH. I suspect the baler was like the 52R combine: Originally if you got an engine-driven 52R, (this was optional with PTO drive) you got a Continental Y-69 engine. It's roughly the size of a Cub engine, with basically a Farmall A air cleaner and H-4 mag. Later, about 1948-49 they went to using the Cub engine on the engine-driven 52R combines. I guess once IH got the Cub off the ground they wanted to use their engine instead of Continental when they could. Al
