Yes, you are missing the connecting shaft that drives the hydraulic pump. It's a round solid shaft about 2" in diameter with flats on both ends to slide into the mating ends that you see. There are also round collars that slide back over the ends of the shaft with large cotter keys that go through the holes in the collars, shaft and mating ends.//FB
