Welding is not so easy on these. It is very thin, and cast iron, and a tight spot usually to get into. Then, there is machining to smooth it all out, with no room for error in the thin cylinder wall. I seriously doubt if a welder who knows what he is doing would do the job for fifty bucks.
I thought we were all "do-it-yourself Types" on this website.
