Curious to know where you got the carb floats for your gas start diesels. My IH dealer says he can't get them. I get black smoke on the gas start with my MD. But fiddle with the choke and get it just right and the smoke goes away. It starts easily even after sitting unused for a month or more. Also, are you switching to gas before you shut down? That burns out residual diesel and makes the next start easier.
