Ahh yes, the cub, a beautiful machine. I myself am the proud care-taker a 1949 Cub, and I use it for mowing my grandmothers 4 acre lawn mostly, although I have just aquired 4 acres of field that I am going to use the Cub to mow and rake the hay. Cubs are strong machines for their size, but their one(and only!!!) drawback would have to be the throwout bearing in the clutch. I am not quite sure what it is made of(graphite, if I remember correctly), but it slows down the engine when you depress the clutch pedal. Many a time have I stalled my cub while clutching it while it was idleing. Other than that, the Cub is a very nimble machine. I would like to get a couple more, but i am sure my grandmother wouldn't aprove of that(i live with my grandmother) If you have any questions about the Cub, or anything else, give me an email
