Hi guys, hope some of you can help me out on this. I'm trying to replace the spider in the steering u-joint on my son's BN . The yokes that hold the spider appear to be solid cast without holes for the caps on the spider to be driven out.The parts guy from Case/IH says there should be C clips on the inside between the spider and the yoke. I can't see them or feel them when I probe around. I have tried to drive the spider to one side to create space on the opposite side but don't seem to gain anything or expose the clip. What do I need to do? Are some of the older ones meant to be replaced as a unit and not rebuilt? Thanks for any advice.
