I just ordered a 6000 watt generator from Harbor Freight and Salvage for under $500. It is on backorder but should be shipped this week.
The PTO generators a pretty pricy. I used to get a catalog from Surplus Center in Lincoln NE that sold generators that you could use to build your own PTO driven unit. I can't find a website for them but if you use your favorite search engine and look for Surplus Center in Lincoln, you will get their address and phone number.
