You want to know how it works? I doesn't!!! At least not very well. I would recommend a different type. The old TA's required all of the "sprags" in the TA to engage at the same time; but over time and wear, they would not all engage and would fail. The mechanical diode TA only requires one clutch or lever to engage, but they have failed miserably. 3 years is about tops for these. I think initially they were only available thru Case/IH, but don't know now. Stay far away from these. Just my 2 cents worth.
