Mighty nice of you to offer your help. If he was closer to tropical Minnesota, I could help also. A clutch disk can be installed backwards. The hub is ususally longer on one side or the other and if backwards, can cause release problems. The tractor does not need to be split if it is not a Super. The belly pump has tocome out which is the hardest part due to weight. The clutch linkage and clutch itself come out easy. Second hardest part are the bolts in the rubber hub on the drive shaft. They can be tight in their holes. I had the clutch out of my M this past summer. It was about 3 hrs., not including belly pump remove and install. That adds about an hour.
