Super C Spark Plugs to Use??

Just bought a nice Super C. It has a BUNCH of extra pieces, tools, planters, implements/cultivaters, PTO & belt pully shields, near new rear tires. These Old Red Iron tractors are really great! Can you put the hotter D-21 plugs in the Super C? Also, what is the gear/assembly that comes out of the brake drum area for? I donot have a manual as yet, so what are the ajustments on the carb? Thanks for all the info!
