Why is every one against the narrow front end? If you take your time and rebuild them from top to bottom including installing new bearings and bushing and a new top gear you will be able to drive them down the roads with out shaking at any speed. Now for the 35 MPH in a old M, I'm not saying it can't be true, but. I know our Farmall 450's will do 28-32 MPH on the roads and our Farmall 460 will do a easy 34-36 MPH. It isn't that hard to made the newer series of Farmall to got top speed on the roads. All you have to do is increase the RPM's but you better have your motor in good shape or it might just come apart on you. Have fun every one, the red tractors are here to stay.
