Check the casting numbers on both blocks and see if they are the same. Or if they are at least close. Also, you could measure the bolt holes on the rear of the block and the sides to see if they are the same on both engines.

A word of caution: after 25 years without being more than just turned over that engines rings will probably be stuck. Expect oil consumption for a while until the rings unstick.
