I need to be informed

I read yesterday on a news website that farmers around the country are losing their butts because nations like China, and The South American regions are selling cotton and other comodities for alot cheaper making it very difficult for farmers here to make a living. I have an uncle about 80 miles away who owns 90+ acres and farms soybeans, he makes money at it (I think) but also works full time in a auto plant. I know this has been happening for a long time in the farming business but I would like some input from farmers here. Question: if you own a farm and have a crop do you make money at it or are you thinking about giving it up.
