Super C, No power at full throttle???

Went and looked at a real nice original Super C today. Starts great, runs great at idle and off idle. Let it run, got up to temperture, but when you give it full thottle it breaks down, misses, etc???? Governor seems to work. Could this be the coil? Has new battery, charges good, still 6 volt. Please let me know your thoughts.
