I didn't intend to be abrupt John, as I reread my post that is the way it sounded to me,my apology. The alternator I used was the same alternator as on my 85 Chevy pickup. I went to a local auto electric shop with my burned out 6 volt generator and had a new 6 volt battery in tractor. I was in a hurry as I was doing row crop work in vegetables. At time I wanted to keep tractor all orginal including gen. However after using tractor with alternator, I will never change back. I notice the antique purests will use modern paints, etc., why not electricity.
