In June of 1960 IH changed the dash color from gun metal Grey (like battleship Grey) to Black. The Grey paint was offered by Navistar at one time and was called Instrument Panel Grey.

If you have Grey on the backside of the dash and the tractor was built prior to June 1960, it should be painted Grey.
