Doug, I put new bearings in my '36 F-12 I seem to think it had free play and the bearing would jump the fork, Than bind so I adjusted it so with the new bearing and motor not running and trottle slack the fork stay on bearing. it seems to work fine. Not shure if that right I would have to get out the book. oldiron29
