I wouldn't worry too much about it, I have a 504 with less than 2000 hrs and 5th is a little noisy on it as well, it is the nature of the beast. My draft control lever was also stuck. WD 40 on the pivot points freed mine up but be gentle, you might twist off the shaft it is attachet to.
