Mary, from the serial # it is a BN. Guy Fay, in his Originality Guide, mentioned that a lot of farmers swapped their BN rear axles for the longer B axles (the N is for Narrow, otherwise the B and BN are the same). Checking the numbers that K-Mo gave you, you can tell whether the tractor is a BN that was left intact, or later fitted with the longer axles. And I'll be sure to tell my girlfriend she's not alone in supporting wholesome habits. She bought the SuperC last year for my birthday that got me started on this old iron thing. I rebuilt it last summer and just last week picked up the BN that my great-grandfather bought new back in 1947. Who knows, maybe she'll help me fill out that letter series collection!
