I just got a "project" tractor, farmall LP 400 from the early 50's, and I know nothing about them except that they are excellent tractors, so I have several questions for all you farmall wizards out there: The power steering booster pump isnt working right, so I took it off. It only turns one way, and you need to be Hercules to steer it even then. Then I tested the hydraulic pressure, and it only put out 1100psi. So I think the hyd. pump is shot--my question is this: could it be that the steering pump isn't working because of the weak hyd. pump, or are they both shot? The steering pump may have a valve stuck, but I don't know where to find it. I looked for adjustment screws on the steering pump, but there were none. The tractor also needs a new wide front end---anybody know where I can get a good Schwartz wide front, and what is a fair price for one?\ Also what kind of manual should I get in order to really work on it? Thanks!
