I too have recently found an interest in the old tractors and equipment. I bought a 1939 Farmall "A" (the first year for the "A") last year. I gave $1750 for it with a front blade unrestored, but it looks like it's still in the original state from the dealer (a real buy). My "A" is crank start, I don't have that new fangled thing they call a battery. Since I bought the "A" I figured I also needed some equipment to pull. I bought and just finished restoring a single bottom 12" mounted plow(hand lift), which I used this year to plow 8 acres. It only took me 23 hours! I also aquired a 6' Roderick Lean disc and found a IH 2 row pull type planter which I will getting before spring, using, then restoring. So far my "A" has been a barrel of fun to work on and work with! buy it and have fun gettin into your new hobby!!
