That doesn't look like Bakersfield to me. I remember flat cotton country and feed lots. Heading west out of town, the land rises evenly and supports oranges and walnuts. Apparently the warm valley air rises and floods the orchards with warm air at night. Of course that didn't work too well in 2007. Lots of freeze damage and not many of those great CA navel oranges hit the market here in the north east.
On another point, the prices she is asking is way over the current scrap value. I am sure she will settle for less.
