I never did see a spec for valve recession on that engine. Actually the early manuals on the D 236 and D 282 didn't have them eiether. Service bulletins were released later on for them as we started to run into starting and cleanup problems. It was very difficult for a dealership to get engineering specs on anything until warranty claims start piling up on a particular problem. I would have to rely on an experienced machine shop to have some specs.
