I had what sounds like the same problem on my 350. Does your hydraulic oil get very hot? I found the problem on mine to be a small and inconspicuous switch on the back of the valve. I think it is intended to switch the valve from single to double acting, but mine had apparently vibrated into the neutral position, not allowing the oil to bypass and flow back to the pump. The result was VERY hot oil if the tractor ran very long, and the engine would lug except when the valve was opened, allowing the oil to flow as intended. I moved the switch back to the detente position and my problem was solved. Hopefully yours can be as easy. Good luck.
