i have 5 farmalls. i have 2 that will leak 1 min after shut off, and one will leake after a hour or so. I just turn off the gas evry time im gonna let it sit for more than a couple of min. It is so easy to turn on and off. Although it sucks when you forget to turn the gas back on and you run out as then you need to get off the tractor and turn the gas back on. Hey look at it this way if it were a horse you would have to feed it and water it every time you wanted to use it or put it away. Like grandpa said " i was used to spending alot of time getting the horses ready to go and put away". turning on and off the gas is a far cry from horses. But a improper adjusted float will cause this and if the shut off valve dosent seal just perfect it will let fuel by. the float could be rubbing on the side not letting it up all the way to shut the valve off. Take the carb apart and manualy push the float up to see if the valve is working properally. It is nice to not have to turn the gas on and off though, but im just used to it i guess.
