i pulled my owners mnual for my h, here is the lockout info. 5th gear is locked out with a lockout screw if equipped with steel wheels. the screw is located on top of the transmission case. to use the fifth speed, remove the lockout screw and replace it with a 3/8 x 3/4 inch cap screw. could be you put too long of a bolt in where the lockout is. my guess is the screw would be in front of the shifter near the steering stalk, the 5th gear shift rail would move foreward when you pull the shifter back for 5th, gotta be on the deck there somewhere!!!!
