Like Gene says you can repolarize back to + ground IF the regulator is not marked "negative ground only", or such.

However from a practical standpoint, why change to + ground? Running + ground greatly increases the chances of an error and damage to your tractor (also damage to the jumping vehicle) should the tractor ever need to be jump started.

Also there's no performance benefit from positive ground other than it's "how it came from the factory". And your SM has already been converted from 6 to 12 volts the originality argument is pretty much moot anyway...
