Its indeed the GENERATOR that gets polarized... What polarizing does is to pass current through the gennys Field windings in the correct direction (i.e. correct +/- Electrical Polarity) so the soft iron shoes develop a small residual magnetic field of the correct corresponding North/South Magnetic Polarity so when it starts to spin the charge is in the correct direction/polarity.........
Magnetism and electriciry are closely related. If you pass current in one direction through a coil of wire encircling a piece of iron the resultant magnetic field impartend into the iron has a certain North/South Magnetic polarity BUTTTTTTTTTTTT if you reverse the current flow direction, the magnetic polairy is likewise reversed WHICH IS WHY N HOW A GENNY NEEDS N GETS POLARIZED. Otherwise it will try n charge just bass ackwards.......
