well on a hyd. clutch ya want 9/16th free travel from the back of the pedal shaft to the floor board , there is and arrow on the clutch pedal massure from the arrow to the floor board with the engine off and see what ya got . and if ya need to make any adjustments will go from there also check and make sure that the cylinder is not getting loose on the mounting bolts . To make the adjustments first unhook the trans brake and the foward clutch rod by removing the pins , next puh the clutch rod as far back into the cylinder next loosen the lock nuts on the rear clutch rod and adjust till ya feel resistance and lock it down . Now ya want to get place something that is 9/16th. thick between the clutch pedal and the floor plate , then ya hold the clutch bell crank foward till ya feel the throw out bearing touchen the clutch and then adjust the front rod out till ya can slide the pin in freely . Next ya want to adjust the trans brake ( this is when ya need a spare foot to hold the clutch pedal down aganist the stop loosen the lock nut on the trans brake rod on the right side of the tractor with your hand hold the lever of the trans brake back then adjust the clevis till the pin will slide in once this is done let the clutch up (tractor does not have to be running for this )next add one turn to the clevis , now depending on ware of all the linkage due to age and ware ya may have to go 1 1/2 turns ans at times i have had to go 2 turns to get it to work correctly . Next it is the dump valve here the engine MUST be running tractor in PARK here again it needs a helper . First back the dump valve adjusting bolt out about 5-6 full turns Depress the clutch pedal down to the stop and hold , the RED teltale light should be on now start turning the adjusting bolt into the clevis and turn till the teltale lite just goes out as soon as it goes out STOP let the clutch pedal up shut off tractor then add ONE MORE FULL TURN TO THE BOLT AND LOCK . Test drive tractor.

All of my part books date back to 1964 and New Holland have changed some part numbers. They usually put the old Ford part number on the package. I was suppressed when I looked up the part number of the auxiliary drive shaft because for some reason the part number went through a radical change and it lost its "Basic Part Number". Ford part numbers follow the following rules. Most part numbers are in three parts. The middle part is called the ... [Read Article]
