I am not certain but I believe the early F-12s up to sometime in at least 34 had the framerails that are sort of curved at the end like those in your first picture. My F-12 which is a 34 has frame rails indentical to those on yours. While my parts engine/front end came with a frame rail indentical to that in your second picture. Its just the same reason that some F-12s have the primer attached to the hood while others dont, and some have a starting tank mounted to the hood itself. Its all a matter of what year they were made coinciding with they were coming out of the factory with.
