I just painted my Stanley muffler for my 300 with engine paint. BAD IDEA!! It all flew off so I am gonna put some exhaust manifold paint on it. I know that won't come off. Had it on my old Chevy for over a year and it never came off or discolored! And you can buy it in silver. You can buy it at you local auto parts store in an aerosol can! It's good for 1,300-2,000 degrees F. The stuff I bought isn't real shiny. The can I have says they have a high heat clear coat also if you want it super shiny!! As far as painting a new muffler my experience with them is this: The aluminized paint they use tends to burn pretty easy and turns a brown color that is why I painted my new one! Just make sure you scuff it alittle with a red scotch brite pad to make the paint adhere to the muffler! Good Luck!!
