If the pump is installed with nice brackets, and if it operates well, I think it will be usable for steering. The key is a match between the steering torquemotor/cylinder, and the pump. A bit more capacity is OK, a bit less, and the steering does not respond well. That is an issue of safety. There may be a website for the model that wouldgive volumes at pressure. If not check it by volume per rev. JimN
