all kinds of ways these were used from around yards to pull trailers and equipment, they were a multi purpose tractor. As for the year there should be a serial number on the left side of the tractors bell houseing. (the same side as the carb) Also look for cast codes, examople A= 55 B= 56 C=57........ Andrew
