706 - trouble shooting

Hi everyone,
I have a 706 that has been getting progressively worse and just before vacation I was hauling bales with it, now I can't get it to move without 'pushing ' with the bucket at first. I managed to get it in reverse low, and get it home to the yard.
Tractor hydraulic levels are ok, and the loader works fine, just won't move unless it gets some sort of a 'push' at first, like the clutch isn't engaging completely on a car. Thanks in advance for ideas to diagnose the problem(s).
