Well I am stuck on the stuck engine

Worked on taking more stuff apart on the engine, got the all the main caps & seals removed except for the middle one, I can't seem to get it to come up. Any tricks for that. Everything still seems frozen, can't budge anything yet. Can the cam gear come off if the crank won't move? Looks like since the gears are beveled that it won't come straight out. Also there is some kind of gouge in the rear crank where the felt seals go, looks odd to me. Pics are on the bottom of my web page. Randy
