There a couple of alignment dowels, one on each side, and there is most likely a lot of rust and other crud built up around these dowels. The dowls are screwed into the clutch housing, and then slip through matching holes in the plate that is bolted to the engine block. If you already have a gap between that plate and the housing, you can use a pry bar, but pry a little on one side, and then on the other side, and if possible you might need to pry both sides at the same time.
