M hydraulics?

I"m trying to hook up the hydraulics on my 1950 M. the right side has one 1/2 NPT fitting, the left side has two. (I"m trying to run a J.D. 12" grain drill with a double-acting cylinder.) What do these fittings do? Which ones should I be using? Also, I can"t view more than 14 pages of this board. I"d like to go back further. How is this done? (The archives are set up alpha-numerically, I want to go chronologically)
