Are you referring to the coil wire that is connected to the mag and the other end of the wire is connected to the cap? I hope you made a note or sketch where the rotor was pointing when you pulled the mag. If you didn't you will probably need to bring No1 piston
to TDC on the compression stroke. Then turn the rotor to the No1 plug tower. You should clean those points with some 320 wet or dry until shiny.
