3588 steering cylinder

I have a leeky steering cylinder on my 2+2. I removed the cylinder and am currently trying to loosen the gland nut. The cylinder has two holes on the side of the nut and two opposed angled notches on the edge of the gland nut. Does anyone have experience working on these cylinders? I've been trying to use a hook type spanner wrench in one of the holes. I'm convinced I'll need a larger wrench. Does anyone know where I can purchase such a tool? I don't want to buy something that won't work. I've seen a few different syle tools on the internet but most don't look like they would work.
