Farmall H Coolant flow question?

I am beginning to reassemble my Farmall H, now that my gasket set has arrived. Unfortunately, I have forgotten one minute detail---should the access panel on the left hand side of the block deflect the coolant upwards or downwards? The coolant is forced into this part of the block by the water pump, and the access panel has louvres to direct the flow, but I have forgotten which way it was when it came off. I really appreciate anyone's help. Thanks! Aaron
