One thing better with this method is it removes rust molecue by molecue. Sand blasting can leave tiny bits of rust that can come back thru the paint at a later date. Its slow but cheaper and I hate the mess of sandblasting. Another thing is it wrks great with sheet metal that cannot be blasted without warping it. I use lye in my cooker and works great for cleaning up greasy parts. Sandblasting and grease don't work well together.
