farmall m starting truble

hello, thank for the replies yesterday. i pulled the tractor and it started fine. butttttt when i went start it to day it cranked but no go, wore my battery dead. some dubm things i have done that mite have caused this: left the on switch on for two days, jumped 12 volts directly to 6 volt battery, and run 12 volts on the 6 volts system. dont know if any of that helps. also my battery dosent crank very fast so that may do it to. any help would be great. james
